The "Bigger than a Bully" app utilises the picture book Bigger Than A Bully by Robert Patruno in order to explore the issue of bullying in schools. The book provides an alternative to passive acceptance/paralysis in the face of bullying by emphasising the power of expressive communication: literally the idea that speaking up about what is happening can break the bullying cycle and thus is mightier than both aggression (physical and verbal) and feelings of powerlessness that are often associated with victimisation.
This app was developed to support teachers and provide access to school environments to reinforce the key values of the "Bigger than a Bully" program. It is an interactive app that navigates users to a number of resources including Ebook, Teaching programs and Student workbooks.
